KEN MILLS BIOGRAPHY
Ken Mills owns and operates the Ken Mills Agency (KMA). Ken is an entrepreneur, producer, teacher and innovator with more than 35 years experience in all aspects of commercial and public radio broadcasting.

Ken's core skills are project management, strategy, marketing, research and assessment. Before starting KMA in September 1997, Ken was Director of News at Public Radio International (PRI) for over five years. At PRI, Ken worked closely with Marketplace, BBC World Service, CBC Radio, Minnesota Public Radio, The World and Christian Science Monitor Radio. He was responsible for station clearances, product development and research.
In the late '80s and early '90s, Ken was General Manager of KCSN-FM in Los Angeles, California. At KCSN, he created Classical Countdown, served as the program's Executive Producer and led the marketing effort that led to carriage on over 200 stations in domestic and international markets.
In the mid '80s, Ken worked at Transtar Radio Network with the team that created Format 41, The Oldies Channel and CNN Headline News on Radio. He was responsible for station clearances and network affiliations. His work added 100 stations 500,000 listeners to Transtar programming.
Before working with Transtar, Ken managed and programmed public and commercial radio stations in Colorado, Minnesota and South Dakota. He built and owned a commercial FM station ("K-SKY") in the Black Hills.
Ken has a Master's Degree in Mass Communication from Arizona State University and a BA in Psychology from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and two cats.
